June's artist-on-display in Swing The Teapot is Sandy Ryan.
Sandy Ryan has been working with watercolor and oils for 18 years. A Kew Gardens resident and native of Western Pennsylvania, she studied under the renowned watercolorist, John Kaufmann, and was a winner of the Alliance of Queens Artists’ 1995 “Emerging Artist” Competition.
Sandy’s paintings have been featured at the Lever House Gallery on Park Avenue, the Jane Law Gallery on Long Beach Island, New Jersey, Almondine in Dumbo, Brooklyn, and numerous other exhibitions, and have been the subject of articles in Newsday and French-Amerique. This show is her first in Floral Park.
A part-time art instructor, Sandy has curated various exhibitions and her commissioned paintings, particularly those of houses, have proven to be extremely popular. She possesses a keen eye for composition and specializes in capturing the interplay of shadow and light. Originals, as well as prints, are available for purchase on her website.
